ABOUT CHIKANVEDA Luxury Woven In Every Thread
Some things become more beautiful because they take time
ChikanVeda was born from this simple belief.
Rooted in the cultural richness of Lucknow, we are inspired by the delicate art of Chikankari—an embroidery tradition admired for its grace, intricacy and unmistakable character. Our purpose is to bring this heritage into contemporary dressing through thoughtfully selected and beautifully crafted clothing for women who appreciate elegance without excess.
We believe a truly special garment is more than fabric and embroidery.
It carries the patience of the artisan. The rhythm of the hand. The individuality of craftsmanship. The character of the place from which it comes. That is the kind of luxury we believe in. Quiet. Considered. Authentic.
At ChikanVeda, we do not simply want to preserve a beautiful craft. We want to help it live.
To be worn. To be loved.
To become part of today’s wardrobe and tomorrow’s memories.

A Different Path to Fashion
ChikanVeda was founded by Smita Singh, an engineering professional with Masters in Technology (M.Tech.)- Biotechnology, born and raised in Lucknow.
Her journey into fashion did not begin in a fashion house. It began with science, engineering and a professional life shaped by precision, structure and attention to detail.
Yet, over time, she found herself increasingly drawn towards something beautifully different—the language of the human hand.
Chikankari.
The more she discovered about the craft, the more she appreciated the extraordinary patience, skill and discipline behind every piece of embroidery.
What appeared delicate on the surface revealed something much deeper underneath:
Time, Technique & Human Craftsmanship.
That appreciation became the inspiration for ChikanVeda.
The idea was never simply to create another clothing label.
It was to build a brand that could bring the beauty of Lucknow into the modern wardrobe while keeping the craft and the people behind it visible.
For Smita, ChikanVeda represents a meeting of two worlds:
Modern Thinking and Timeless Craftsmanship.
A belief that progress does not require us to leave our roots behind.
Sometimes, moving forward simply means finding a beautiful new way to carry them with us.
A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
“Some traditions deserve not only to be preserved, but to be lived.”
I was born and raised in Lucknow—a city where Chikankari is more than an embroidery technique. It is part of the cultural fabric of the place I call home.
My own professional journey has been very different from fashion. Coming from an engineering and biotechnology background, I have spent much of my life around science, precision and structured thinking.
And yet, I found myself captivated by a craft that communicates through patience, detail and the human hand.
Chikankari.
The more I came to understand the craft, the more I thought about the women behind every stitch—their skill, patience and countless hours of careful work.
I wanted to create something that respected that effort.
Something that did not simply sell Chikankari, but celebrated what makes it meaningful.
That thought became ChikanVeda.
For me, ChikanVeda is about bringing the elegance of Lucknow into the lives of today’s women in a way that feels contemporary, comfortable and timeless—while keeping craftsmanship and its makers at the heart of our story.
I believe we should never have to choose between moving forward and staying connected to where we come from.
We can carry both.
And perhaps one of the most beautiful ways to keep heritage alive is to give it a place in everyday life.
One woman.
One garment.
One stitch at a time.
With warmth,
Smita Singh
